Second Life News & Events & Guides
All you Second Life need to place your bets elsewhere–Second Life is becoming U.S. Federal Law-friendly.
According to Second Life’s new policy, “it is a violation of this policy to wager in games in the Second Life (R) environment operated on Linden Lab servers if such games: (1) (a) rely on chance or random number generation to determine a winner, OR (b) rely on the outcome of real-life organized sporting events”
There’s a whole list of games which you now can not play in Second Life, including baccarat, craps, poker and roulette, but the puzzling part is how Second Life treats this. “Linden Lab’s policy is not intended to identify which gambling activities may be legal where you live, and we cannot provide legal advice to you,” the notice states.
And truthfully, I don’t know exactly what that means, other than all bets are off. Maybe, Second life linden since you can’t bet on real-life sports, you can organize a Second Life baseball league and start betting on virtual games.
