Created by Sonov Entertainment and published via Aeria Games and Entertainment, Shaiya is a free MMORPG that won GameBorder's Best MMORPG of 2007 and Best Graphics in the 2007 Reader's Choice MMOSITE. It is a wonderful online game with a fansite, a wiki for information, and a complete game guide on site. Those looking for a really nice game with several levels of entertainment should take a further look at Shaiya.
Shaiya was in closed invitation beta trials by November of 2007, and in open beta by the mid December of 2007. Its official live release was on December 24, 2007, just one day before Christmas. What a nice present it turned out to be, a free MMORPG that is worthy of paying for. It has an 18 and over rating and is categorized as a medieval fantasy, full of legend and lore of the goddesses. Its platform so far is Windows XP and Vista.
There are four difficulty modes when you first go to make your Shaiya Gold character on login.
EASY: This level will only go to level 30 and there are items and skills that are not used in Easy mode rather than in the normal game. There are lesser experience points that are required to get to each new level than in the normal game too.
NORMAL: This is the level for the regular game, and when you have reached level 50 you can get access to Hard mode. This level will give you experience and skill points at the standard rate.
HARD: This level is where there are extra items, quests and skills. Experience is gained at four times NORMAL rate and when you have reached level 50 you can get access to Ultimate mode.
ULTIMATE: Same difficulty as Hard level but if the player dies and isn't brought back in three minutes that character will be deleted and will not be able to be played again.
There are twelve classes inShaiya Gold but only six playing styles because the class is restricted by race.
Human Defender or Nordein Guardian – This is a very armored tank with high hit points.
Human Fighter or Nordein Warrior – This is a melee damage character with spells and Shaiya money physical attacks. They get a range of weaponry to choose from.
Human Priest or Vail Oracle – This character has weak armor abilities but can resurrect and heal. It is a great PVP character in group events.
Elf Ranger or Vail Assassin – This character uses stealth and evasion to do damage, they don't have tons of armor.
Elf Archer or Nordein Hunter – They use bows andShaiya Gold javelins from ranged attacks and they are not given heavy armor.
Elf Mage or Vail Pagan – These are spellcasters with ranged abilities to do high damage AoE attacks.
