Martial Law
There's no need to fuss over the controls in the game. Movements, actions and camera angles are done in the expected keyboard+mouse combination. Up to 6 rows of shortcut keys divided into two pages are at your disposal. The UI is simple and clutter-free, with the necessary buttons bunched up on the lower right corner of the screen, by the map. Clicks and button presses are generally responsive, with minimal to no delays even during moderate lag. The keyboard assignments can be customized to your heart's content as well.
While the controls and UI are nothing to worry about, you might encounter some difficulty building your character up. Grinding for experience points in quests and the usual mob-killing will result in less-than-expected gains. Sadly, the game is slightly stingy in rewarding experience points. Even skill points are hard to come by. Although there are instances of a hefty skill point reward, the character would more often receive a measly 1 skill point per level. The skill tree is reminiscent of World of Warcraft's talent tree, but with lesser abilities to unlock.
Unfortunately, with the sparse skill point gain, it will take a long time before the job's median potential is realized. I also don't see the point in giving stat points only upon reaching level 25 Martial Empires Gold. What makes it worse is that, just like skill point gain, only 1 stat point is given per level. Why hold out stat points on the first 24 levels when these formative levels are the most crucial in determining playing out the character's future build? Again, just like skill and experience points, the game is too much of a Scrooge handing out stat points too.
